About Me



I began collecting Art Deco whilst still at school.  Before I knew it, I was regularly buying and selling Clarice Cliff and Susie Cooper with the aim of upgrading my own ( growing) collection.  In the years that passed, my interest in the 20th Century designs grew and soon my collecting encompassed everything from the late 19thC Arts & Crafts  and Art Nouveau to the cutting edge designs of the Italian manufacturer Alessi and fab furniture and lighting from the 1960s.

My work has included a spell at the prestigeous Wedgwood rooms at Barlaston and as the club secretary for British toy maker Merrythought. Both gave me a unique and rare insight into the collectables market and Britsh manufacturing.  Throw into the mix a spell as an antique showroom manager- selling everything from Georgian seretaires to Edwardian occasional furniture and everything in between .  I am still a strong believer in the power of 20th Century design - I am passionate about everything from weird and wonderful watches to vintage magazines- the list is endless!!

The market place is a very different one from when I started collecting, people are pragmantic and often want to incorporate stylish and useful items into their home.  Art Deco Express was born with the aim of offering stylish period designs, carefully chosen for a discerning market.  We ship worldwide and can offer informed advice on everything from a single piece to offering practical interior design service (C&G qualified).

Together with Art Deco Express, we also run Valentine Auctions - a brand new showroom which offers buyers and sellers a professional service combined with my 20th Century knowledge.
