In all my time, this is only the second Iffland bronze I have owned.  His works are highly prized in their native Germany, and Iffland produced much of his work in the early 1900s.  He died in 1935 aged 73 so was much older than other sculptors working at the time; embracing the 'anything goes' nature of Berlin's  night life - a source of inspiration for many Art Deco artisans.

This piece is more Art Deco than most of his output and is such an extravigant and delicate pose that I doubt many survived. This perfect example is quite amazing and he extra long limbs and beautiful facial detail as testament to Franz Iffland's skill.
