These plaques are just so amazing, copied by many but this original is unsurpassed.  These plaques are smaller versions of the large relief design which towered over the Follies Bergeres.  It was the work of Maurice Picaud ( Pico) and it is believed these smaller versions lined the inner entrance of the building and many were given as gifts to VIPs and patrons as well as being offered for sale.

The panel is made from an artist's plaster- which is then gilded- and framed in a lovely warm oak frame and this example has a small brass plaque with 'M. Pico' engraved.  Every part of this super piece of Deco art is captured in crisp detail.

It is a stunning piece of Art Deco wall sculpture and this adds a real touch of class to any interior. These plaques have a long history of realising very high sale prices at auction from £3,000 to even £7,000.  In fact, only recently a very badly damaged version sold on an online auction for £986!
