This is a real treat- it's the first one of this design I have ever seen to survive intact and in worderful condition.  De Roncourt males are amongst the best of their kind and his works are rarely matched by other artists of the period. 

He is superbly modelled and patinated with a green patina.  This dynamic figure is full of movement and he is holding aloft the original bow, which I believe is made from black Bakelite. 

The figure is mounted on a carved stone base, which carries the impressed signature.  This is then mounted on a lovely green veined base.  All in all this is a very heavy piece which has lots of dramatic appeal.  He would make such a statement and  is one of the finest quality male spelter statues I've seen.
