This
is a beautiful piece of Art Deco sculpture which has remarkable detail
given it's diminutive size. It was cast in the Vienna arsenal C1920s and is in excellent original condition.
Although
she is unsigned she is almost certainly by Bruno Zach - I have seen larger
versions of this statue which are signed. However Spanish dancers were quite a popular subject matter and many artists including Josef Lorenzl and Sohner- as well as Zach, made Spanish dancers in both bronze and spelter.
Bruno Zach pieces consistenly fetch very high sale prices as his work is so desirable, the miniatures are amongst the hardest to find of his works.
She is fixed to her conical onyx /marble base with the original screw and nut fixings which are original.
Condition:
Excellent/Very good - some wear the gilt bronze patina commensurate
with age and a tine flake to the bottom of the marble base - A rare
piece!
Size: She stands approximately 100mm tall - an impressive piece of sculpting and quality casting.
