I cannot believe I have one of these for sale as they are just so hard to find.  The condition is amazing (just one very fine shallow chip to the rim) as they are so often badly damaged.

What makes these vases unique is that they blend wrought metal and then the glass is blown into the shape, which gives this vase its strange and beautiful appearance.  The wrought metal has it's original patina and the glass bulges through like jewels.  The glass is predominantly orange with purple inclusions.

These vases were incredibly skillfully produced and few survive, that's why only the best glass makers and metal workers produced these rare pieces including Edgar Brandt, Louis Majorelle, Daum, Schneider. Since buying this piece I have been contacted by someone who has an identical piece which is marked  Daum.
