Simply stunning is the only way to describe this beautiful classic Art Deco mascot paperweight by the master of Art Deco glass- Rene Lalique with the rarer impressed 'Lalique France' stamp. 

 

This is the paperweight version of the classic cockerel car mascot - not to be confused with later versions, which were also made as book-ends.  The detail and incredible styling of this piece needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.

 

Size: Approx 6.5 inches tall

 

Sadly the cockerel has a small shallow chip to one side of the plume, this could be professionally ground or polished out, however I have decided to leave it, as it is hardly noticeable when on display.  A perfect pre-war example of of this piece would be incredibly expensive and hard to find, yet this is offered at a very affordable price making it a great way to own a piece of Art Deco glass from a master maker.
