Wonderful stylised group of deer by Decoux. These figures are just amazing and it is no wonder why many consider Decoux to be one of the premier animal modellers of the Art Deco period. Click on any of the thumbnails for an enlarged image.
The figures have their original black patination and resemble Austrian Hagenauer pieces. The base is a lovely combination of polished Belgian black marble with lovely jade-green onyx intersections. This is a compact figural group which displays beautifully, and this is very good original piece of extreme Art Deco styling.
