A really rare and beautiful figure - The Hoop Girl. This figure is incredibly well constructed and this is a sign of it's quality. It features a Belgian black marble base and the girl is very well detailed with inscribed decoration to her skirt. This base was made specifically for this figure and was not used on any other figures - usually bases could be made for a variety of models.
This figure is very rare indeed and I have only seen examples illustrated in books. The quality of the modelling and the patination is excellent.
It is signed to the base A Van Kote. A similar figure (minus the hoop) is illustrated Bryan Catley's Art Deco Figures book listed as being by S Lypchytz, however I feel that this could possibly be the work of A Kelety.
